Over a year ago, my wife and I started playing a new Pathfinder campaign online with friends and family from across the US. A few months into our game, we had amassed a huge cloud drive folder of documents, spreadsheets, images, and notes. We found ourselves stopping mid game session to sift through our documents to find quests, descriptions, or that NPC we just ran into that we KNOW we met before.
Playing D&D and Pathfinder online is a joy, but also a frustration on many other levels. There was just too much data to track between too many people. Slowly but surely, during this long campaign, Rachel started indexing pieces of our campaign into a simple website to make our tracking easier and more fluid. Now our whole group could see everything and make edits together. Over the next year, she spent more and more time evolving that project, and we would brainstorm what would be fun and efficient additions to our little app. Finally, Chronica started to really emerge.
Playing tabletop RPGs online brings with it many boons and downfalls. We want to take those difficulties and make them simple, so you can focus on the relationships and the fun.
Being able to play with my brother in New York, and friends in Minnesota and Alaska is a great testament to the power of the tools available today. D&D, and tabletop games in general, are quickly rising in popularity, and online play is becoming more and more common. These games have a lasting power to imagination and creativity of those who play it.
When it comes to being able to make it easier and more intuitive to play, that's our goal. We want to share with you the improvements to our gameplay that we all enjoy in our sessions each week. I hope you all appreciate and enjoy the fruit of our labor as we bring you a tool to elevate your game to the next level.
