Profile Templates let you tailor what shows up on a profile, so different kinds of characters and objects can each have their own look. A template does two things: it controls which Stat Groups appear on a profile, and it lets you rename the main card stat labels (Title, Faction, Race, Class, and Alignment).
This is handy when one campaign holds very different sorts of profiles. If you track detailed combat stats for your party but only a few notes for shopkeepers, a template keeps each profile clean. And templates shine for non-traditional "characters" — a spaceship mixed in with your NPCs can have its own stats and labels (relabel Race and Class as "Type" and "Model" so a profile reads "Shuttle UT-47 Kodiak") while your character pages stay tidy.
What a template can be assigned to
A profile template can be assigned to Characters (NPCs and PCs), Entities, and Places. The Stat Group selection applies to all of them; the main card stat label overrides apply specifically to NPCs and Player Characters.
Where to find it
Only Game Masters can create and manage profile templates. In your campaign's left navigation, open Admin Settings and choose Profile Templates. From there you can build a new template, edit existing ones, and open the Mass Assign tool.
The sections below cover creating and editing a template and assigning templates to your characters, entities, and places.
26.1 Creating & Editing a Profile Template
On the Profile Templates page, click the green "New Profile Template" button to start one, or the green "Edit Template" button beside any template in the list to change it. The list also shows each template's name, how many Stat Groups it includes, and its label overrides at a glance, and you can drag the grip handle to reorder templates.
Name
Give the template a clear Name that describes what it's for — something like PC Spellcaster, Spaceships, Entity: Beasts, or Kingdoms.
Main Card Stat Overrides (NPCs & PCs)
These fields rename the five main card stats — the ones you see when you flip a card on the NPC Codex or on the large Player Codex cards. Use them if your game uses a different terminology. This section only affects NPCs and Player Characters.
- Title Override — renames the Title label.
- Faction Override — renames the Faction label.
- Race Override and Class Override — rename the Race and Class labels. These two appear together as subtext in some places, normally reading something like "Human Rogue." They work nicely as a pair: for a spaceship template, relabel them "Type" and "Model" so the subtext reads "Shuttle UT-47 Kodiak."
- Alignment Override — renames the Alignment label. Note that overriding it also turns the alignment field into a plain text box instead of a dropdown.
Leave any field blank to keep its default label. (Disposition is the one main stat that can't be overridden — it appears here greyed out.)
Select Stat Groups
Check the Stat Groups you want this template to include — use Toggle All to select or clear them quickly. Each row shows the group's categories and how many stats it contains. Any profile assigned this template will show only the Stat Groups you select here, which is what keeps cluttered profiles clean. If you need to set up or adjust your groups first, the "Stat Groups & Stats Admin" button opens that admin in a new tab. (See Stat Groups & Stats.)

26.2 Assigning Profile Templates
Creating a template doesn't change anything on its own — you assign it to the characters, entities, or places that should use it. There are two ways to do this.
One at a time, from the object
On a Character, Entity, or Place edit form, find the Profile Template dropdown and pick your template. You must save the object with the template selected before it takes effect — choosing it in the dropdown alone won't apply it until you save.
In bulk, from Mass Assign
To assign a template to many objects at once, click the orange "Mass Assign Templates" button at the top of the Profile Templates page. The Mass Assign screen has three tabs: Player Characters, NPCs, and Entities.
On any tab, choose a template from the dropdown, tick the objects you want to assign it to (the Toggle All checkbox selects the whole list), then click "Update All Selected". Each tab is saved on its own, so update Player Characters, NPCs, and Entities separately.
Places aren't part of the Mass Assign tool — assign a template to a place from its own edit form using the dropdown described above.
