The Quest Log tracks your campaign's quests, grouped by status (Unbegun, Progress, Completed, Failed) and able to nest under one another. Game Masters and Quest Keepers (an admin role) can create and edit quests; everyone can read the non-secret ones.
11.1 Creating & Editing a Quest
Use the green "New Quest" button on the Quest Log, or "Edit Quest" on a quest. The form covers:
- Name and an optional Parent Quest (to nest it).
- Status — Unbegun, Progress, Completed, or Failed.
- Quest Type — optional (Arc, Diplomacy, Discovery, Escape, Escort, Fetch, Hybrid, Kill, Rescue, Setting, Other).
- Quest Place Write-in and Quest Character Write-in — free-text for a custom place or person — plus multi-selects below each to link actual Places and Characters from your campaign.
- Description, Notes, and a Game Master Secrets editor (GMs).
- Secret? (GMs) — hides the quest from players.
On a quest's page, the green "Nested Quest" button adds a child quest beneath it.
11.2 View Quest Details
The left sidebar lists your top-level quests grouped by status (click to expand), with a collapsible Search panel above it (search by name, description, or notes contents). The detail view shows the quest's type, linked places and characters, description, and notes, plus a breadcrumb of any parent quests. You can also filter the log by clicking a type, place, or character chip on a quest; an orange "Reset Search & Filter" button clears it.
Quest Loot
Each quest can hold its own loot inventory. A Game Master creates it with "Create Loot Inventory", which adds a "Quest Loot" tab to the quest. It starts hidden; the GM uses "Toggle Secret" to reveal it so players can view and withdraw items (except from secret containers), and "Delete Quest Loot" to remove it. It's good practice to delete loot inventories once a quest is done, to keep your transfer dropdowns tidy.
11.3 Quest Ancestry
Quests can nest into chains — a main quest with sub-quests beneath it. Nested quests appear under their parent with colored status icons; hover one to see its status. The "Sort Quests" button (teal) lets you reorder a chain. Note that a non-secret quest nested inside a secret one still shows in the main list, so mark every quest in a chain secret if you want the whole thing hidden.
