5.2 The Order to Clone In
Some sections depend on others. If you clone them in the wrong order, nothing breaks and nothing is lost, but pieces arrive empty and you have to clone again to fill them in.
Work down this list, cloning one section at a time. Skip any you do not use.
- Currencies — first, so item and shop values are read against the right denominations.
- Ability Types — before anything that has abilities on it.
- Stat Groups — before anything that has stats on it.
- NPCs — now their stats and abilities have something to match.
- Entities — now their stats and abilities have something to match.
- Item Library — after Currencies.
- Campaign Shops — last, so shops can reconnect to their NPCs.
Everything must come from the same source campaign. Chronica links a cloned NPC's stats to the stats it cloned from the same campaign. Cloning Stat Groups from one campaign and NPCs from another will not join them up, even if the stats have identical names.
If you cloned in the wrong order
Clone the missing section, then clone the section that needed it again with Overwrite previously cloned data? ticked. The second pass finds the NPCs or entities it cloned before and fills in the stats and abilities that now have matches. See 5.3 for what else Overwrite changes.
