6.1 Adding Players

Game Masters can add players from Party Info, with Add New Player at the top of the page or + Player on the Players panel.

  1. Choose someone from your friends list, or type their username exactly as it appears on Chronica. If you fill in both, the friend you chose is the one added.
  2. Click Add Player to Campaign.

The player is added straight away and given their own Player Inventory. They are not asked first — so it is worth checking with them beforehand. Adding them is recorded in the Activity Log.

If you set their admin roles at the same time, see 6.5.1. You can also change them at any time afterwards.

Someone who is not on Chronica yet needs an invitation instead. The Add a Player page links to it, or see 30.0 Invitations & Referrals. If you are the Game Owner, the invitation can add them to this campaign as soon as they join. Other Game Masters can invite them to Chronica, then add them here once they have an account.

If the person is already in the campaign, Chronica says so and nothing changes.

When the button is greyed out

Each tier allows a certain number of players, and locked players count towards it. When the campaign reaches its limit, the button shows New Player and cannot be clicked. To add someone, either remove a player (6.2) or, if you are the Game Owner, use Upgrade? beside it. See 3.0 Subscriptions & Payments for what each tier allows.

If the campaign has room again and some players are still locked, the Game Owner sees an orange unlock button beside Add New Player, which opens the page for managing locked players.

Game Owners: a campaign invitation does not check the player limit. If someone accepts an invitation when the campaign is already full, the campaign goes over its limit, and everyone is sent to the locked players page until you lock a player or upgrade. Check you have a free place before inviting someone to the campaign.
