2.4 Setting Your Time Zone
2.0 User Dashboard & Account 2.4 Setting Your Time Zone

Your time zone is one dropdown on Account Settings. It decides how Chronica writes out the timestamps it records for you — and, just as importantly, there are a few places it deliberately does not reach.

What it changes

Your time zone applies to the date and time stamps Chronica records as you work: entries in the campaign Activity Log, timestamps on adventure notes, the dates on friend requests, and similar. Set it correctly and those read in your local time instead of someone else's.

What it does not change — and this is the important part
Session and event times are not converted to your time zone. When someone schedules an event they type the time and pick which time zone that time is in, and Chronica shows exactly that, with the zone label attached — for example "7:00 PM EST". It is shown identically to everyone, in the zone the organiser chose. So read the zone label to ensure you are calculating the correct time. Changing your account time zone will not shift a session time, and if a session looks like it is at the wrong hour, that is a question for whoever scheduled it rather than a setting on your end.

Two other things sit outside it. Billing dates — your payment history and next payment date — follow the device you are reading them on, so they will look right wherever you are, regardless of this setting.

Set it deliberately, once
We recommend you open the dropdown and choose your zone when you first set up your account. A new account has no zone chosen, and the dropdown falls back to displaying the first entry in the list — so saving Account Settings without touching it silently sets you to that first entry. Choose your actual zone and save.
